In 2022, they came to us with a big aspiration: revolutionise the way new customers experience GetYourGuide. We teamed up with them on enhancing the way new travellers explore the world, with the ultimate goal of improving 90 day retention.

In order to solve the retention problem, we needed to understand some of the main blockers that customers had not only with using GetYourGuide, but generally throughout their trips.
We ran numerous customer interviews and surveys, did extensive benchmarking on competitors and workshopped together ways in which we can address the most common issues.

During the discovery phase for a new trip, travellers were looking for tips and inspiration for things to do over the transactional aspect → This led us to design ways in which the goal is creating a list of future activities rather than booking them.

Travellers are less interested in brand messaging when discovering things to do. Instead, they turn to blogs, social media, and YouTube → To match that behaviour, we brought GetYourGuide influencer partnerships front and centre.

Travellers seeking to visualize their next trip were looking for immersive and visually appealing experiences → We transformed the GetYourGuide experience by offering easily digestible, highly visual content.

During our 9 month long collaboration, we have successfully launched and implemented more than 12 experiments aimed at addressing the challenge of retention.
Throughout this process, we've gathered valuable insights from each experiment, and turned those ideas into fully fledged features that would move the needle.
