Booking a van —
Back in 2017, we were hired to design and validate a mobile first approach to booking a van. Although there are plenty similar services in the UK — from Anyvan to the old Gumtree — most of them are unreliable, expensive or hard to use.

We ran a workshop to identify potential opportunities, designed and prototyped the booking experience, and finalised with testing it against real customers.

This helped our client validate the idea and build a roadmap before spending hundreds of thousands on building the real thing.

Design Workshop
We kicked off the project with a workshop, helping us gather requirements and prioritise potential features. By the end of week 1 we had a pretty solid idea of what we should design & test.
3 simple steps
We split the booking process in 3 steps: Location, Time and Details. While the first 2 are self explanatory, the last one is a heads up for the Popvan team regarding what they're supposed to move.
Increase trust
To increase trust in Popvan, we combined real driver photos with a friendly tone-of-voice. Also, help is always on sight for when things don't go as planned.
Where's my van?
We designed a clear and friendly order status, making it easier for users to understand where their van is at any time.
